Service Corps

Events & Projects

Both short-term and long-term service events and projects are offered throughout the year in the greater Tampa area as well as in nearby rural areas. Students can learn more about these specific opportunities.

Student Procedures

Please carefully review this important section!

  • Make sure to provide ALL information requested when you register for an event. In addition, you must specify your lesson plans, learning activities, and any necessary supplies, if applicable.
  • After you register, please save the date. Remember, when you sign up for a service event, we are all depending on you! If an emergency arises and you cannot attend, please inform the USF Health Service Corps coordinator who can plan accordingly. This is a matter of professional courtesy that we expect of our students.
  • A few days before the event, you will receive an email from the USF Health Service Corps coordinator with detailed information pertaining to what you will be doing, what to wear, the access code for specific virtual service events and the location of in-person events.
  • Please be professional! When we volunteer in these community service events, we serve as ambassadors for USF Health and USF.

We hope you will have a great time, learn something new and make life better for our community while contributing to these service activities!

Tracking Participation

To track participation, download the Service Log to record your hours and provide a detailed description of each service project. This log enables you to document your service hours throughout the year.

  • To register, please use the link found on the calendar. Please sign up yourself, and do not rely upon someone else to sign you up.

  • A few days before the event, you will receive an email from the USF Health Service Corps coordinator with detailed information on what to expect. The USF Health Service Corps coordinator will send this “pre-event” email to both the students who have committed to participate in the event and community partners to ensure a transparent chain of communication.

  • After you sign up, please save the date. Remember, when you sign up for a service event, we are all depending on you! If an emergency arises and you cannot attend, please inform the USF Health Service Corps coordinator as soon as possible via email to plan accordingly. This is a matter of professional courtesy that we expect of all student volunteers.

  • After each event, the USF Health Service Corps coordinator will send a note to all volunteers, including photos from the event. As a student volunteer, you are welcome to use this email as documentation that you participated in the event.

Please download the updated Service Log to record your hours and provide a detailed description of each service project.

  • The USF Health Service Corps is designed for any interested USF Health students in the CON, COPH, COP, MCOM, DPT and PA programs. In addition, for some non-clinical events, there will be opportunities for USF undergraduate pre-health professional students to become involved. Students do not need to belong to a 'club' to participate in USF Health Service Corps events.

  • Yes!

  • There is no limit!
