Joanne Sullivan
Assistant Vice President of Community Engagement, USF Health
Joanne Sullivan’s career in fund-raising, development and community engagement in Tampa spans thirty years and includes key leadership positions at the University of Tampa, Florida Hospital Tampa Foundation (now Advent Health), Academy at the Lakes, the Tampa Museum of Art, and Berkeley Preparatory School. For the past eight years she has served the University of South Florida as USF Health’s Assistant Vice President of Community Engagement.
Ms. Sullivan is a graduate of Florida State University. She is a member of Leadership Tampa’s Class of 1991 and Leadership Tampa Bay’s Class of 2010. She is active in both organization’s alumni programs. In addition, Joanne is a member of Red Cross Angels, the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Association for Fundraising Professionals, where she is a past president and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Tampa. She is a member of USF’s Women in Leadership & Philanthropy.
This year Joanne was named the recipient of the Dottie Berger McKinnon “Woman of Influence” Award by the Tampa Bay Chamber. In 2023 Leadership Tampa Bay Alumni recognized her as a Notable Alumna. In 2022 she presented a TED Talk at TEDx Westshore entitled “Confessions of a Serial Connector,” which can be seen on YouTube. In 2015, Joanne was selected by her fundraising peers in the Tampa Bay area as the recipient of the Lloyd Horton Lifetime Achievement Award. She is a past finalist in the Tampa Bay Business Journal's "Business Woman of the Year " program.
