Terri Ashmeade, MD, is professor in the Department of Pediatrics and vice dean for Clinical Affairs for USF Health, vice president of Medical Affairs for the USF Tampa General Physicians, and chief medical officer and associate dean for clinical affairs for the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. 

She is also a neonatologist in the Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU at Tampa General Hospital. 

Dr. Ashmeade earned her bachelor's degree in psychology (cum laude) from Howard University in Washington DC, her master’s degree in medical sciences with a concentration in patient-oriented research from the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, and her medical degree from the University of Connecticut. She conducted her medical residency in pediatrics, and fellowship in neonatology at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.She joined the USF Health MCOM faculty in 2001 and has dozens of peer-reviewed publications, led numerous clinical trials and holds two U.S. patents. She served as the medical director of the Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU and Neonatology division chief and later as the chief of Pediatrics at Tampa General Hospital before transitioning to a leadership position at USF Health as the organization’s first Chief Quality Officer.
