The Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC) is a consortium of professionals dedicated to the advancement of perinatal health care. Housed in the Chiles Center at the University of South Florida College of Public Health, the FPQC works alongside our partners to achieve the goal of advancing the health and well-being of all Florida mothers and infants. Our mission is to always provide the best evidence-based perinatal care possible, and to further that care through data-driven education and training.

Opportunities for FPQC Participation

*A new Florida state statute requires participation by maternity units in at least two FPQC initiatives. On August 23, 2022, FPQC hosted a webinar where we shared information with hospital teams about opportunities for participation. Discussed on this webinar was the Postpartum Access & Continuity of Care (PACC) InitiativePerinatal Quality Indicators (PQI), and the Mother-Focused Care Initiative, and how participation in these initiatives can fulfill this requirement. Our new Homeward Bound neonatal initiative also fulfills this requirement. Stay tuned for more opportunities for FPQC participation in 2024.

Florida ACOG Levels of Maternal Care (LOMC)

Florida ACOG Levels of Maternal Care (LOMC) does not count toward the new state statute requirement for participation in at least two FPQC initiatives. However, we highly encourage Florida maternity units to apply for this important effort!  The pilot is designed to assess Florida maternity hospitals’ participation in a verification program and the potential impact on improving maternal care in the state. With one-year of funding provided by the Florida Department of Health, the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC) will pay initial site visit cost and first full year annual fee for any Florida maternity hospital willing to apply for and participate in The Joint Commission’s (TJC) ACOG Levels of Maternal Care verification program.
