PhD in Public Health with a Concentration in Health Services Research
The PhD in Public Health with a Concentration in Health Services Research (HSR) provides students with training in research methodology designed to analyze health issues. The program prepares students for future careers as health services researchers in the private sector (e.g. insurance plans, health systems, corporations), government, and academia.

Students will receive training in research methods to improve population health, learn to formulate measures to track health outcomes in the health system, and communicate these findings through scholarly publications. HSR training prepares students to evaluate health care delivery systems using quantitative research. The curriculum emphasizes research methods, statistical analysis, measurement of cost, quality, access to care, population health principles, health system performance, and scholarly communication through peer-reviewed journals.
