Biography
Dr. Andrew Abadeer is a reconstructive plastic surgeon with advanced training in hand surgery, microsurgery, limb salvage, and peripheral nerve surgery. He completed his plastic surgery residency at Georgetown University, where he developed a strong focus on microsurgical reconstruction and complex lower-extremity limb salvage. He then pursued fellowship training at OrthoCarolina, concentrating not only on comprehensive hand surgery but also on the surgical care of amputees, brachial plexus reconstruction, targeted muscle reinnervation, regenerative peripheral nerve interfaces, and spasticity surgery. With a background in engineering, his clinical and research interests center on complex upper- and lower-extremity reconstruction, peripheral nerve surgery, and the integration of bionic and human-machine interfaces to restore function after trauma and oncologic resection. He is particularly interested in developing next-generation reconstructive strategies that bridge microsurgery, robotics, and neural engineering to improve outcomes for patients with limb loss and severe extremity injury.
