Pedram Hamrah

Dr. Pedram Hamrah, Director

The Institute for Sight Innovation and Translational Health (INSIGHT) is led by Dr. Pedram Hamrah. Dr. Hamrah is a clinician-scientist specializing in corneal disease, ocular surface disorders, neuroimmune mechanisms, and translational ophthalmology. Dr. Hamrah founded INSIGHT as a clinical and translational research institute dedicated to advancing evidence-based ophthalmic care through NIH-funded research, innovative clinical trials, biomarker development, artificial intelligence, and multicenter collaborations.
Edgar Espana

Dr. Edgar Espana, Co-Director

Dr. Espana is a cornea and refractive surgery specialist with expertise in surgical innovation, corneal transplantation, and anterior segment disease. His clinical and research interests focus on advancing surgical techniques, device evaluation, and therapeutic strategies in corneal disease. As Co-Director of INSIGHT, Dr. Espana contributes clinical trial leadership, surgical research expertise, and translational insights into device and procedural innovation.
