Biography
Dr. Sims is a neuropsychologist with the Morsani College of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery and Brain Repair, Division of Neuropsychology. She received her doctorate at the University of Houston in 1994 and has specialized in Adult and Geriatric Neuropsychology throughout her career. Specifically, Dr. Sims evaluates for possible dementia, cognitive, and memory disorders associated with various acquired or neurodegenerative disorders including Parkinson's disease, Essential tremor, Alzheimer's disease, seizure disorder, stroke, traumatic brain injury, Frontotemporal dementia, Pick’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, hypoxia, and other cognitive disorders due to medical illness. She also evaluates patients for candidacy for Deep Brain Stimulation surgery (DBS) and Focused Ultrasound Stimulation (FUS).
