Dr. Oller is the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of South Florida. A Tampa native, she went to University of South Florida for her biology degree and medical doctorate. She remained at USF for residency training and subsequently as a faculty member for the inpatient ward service at Tampa General Hospital. During her time as faculty and Associate Program Director, Dr. Oller founded the Scholar’s Council - an innovative curriculum that blends online project tracking and mentorship with workshops to enhance scholarly activity skills. She has a passion for learning beyond the classroom: leading resident simulation training for procedures as well as code team leadership, preparing jeopardy-style games to test medical knowledge, and creating concise algorithmic study guides for board review. She has received multiple teaching awards and was recognized by the American College of Physicians as Teacher of the Year in 2017. As Program Director, she has demonstrated a dedication to the program and department, an innovative approach to program development, and continues the resident-centered environment this program promotes.
Helen is our program's Assistant Director. Helen began with the program in 2013 as the Program Coordinator. She then worked as the Program Administrator for USF's Cardiovascular Disease fellowships. After doing a quick year at BayCare Health System in the Physician Leadership Program, Helen came back to Internal Medicine in 2018. Helen enjoys working with residents and of course, working for USF. She is currently pursuing her MBA in Healthcare Analytics with USF.
Helen lives in Saint Petersburg. She and her husband are a rarity, real native Floridians. In her spare time, Helen enjoys spending time boating with her family and friends, playing with her two cocker spaniels, and is an avid traveler. She also loves college football, (UF, USF, and USNA), hockey (Lightning), and soccer (Rowdies and Chelsea F.C.)

Bianca Melendez graduated from USF in 2016 with her BS in Health Sciences and a minor in Public Administration. She previously worked at USF Health in the OB/GYN Residency and Fellowship Programs where she supported their Program Coordinator as an Office Assistant. Before coming back to USF Health, she worked in Campus Recruiting at Raymond James Financial. Bianca is very excited to be back at USF Health and to work with the Internal Medicine Residents. In her free time, Bianca enjoys going to local breweries and spending time with friends and family. Her all-time favorite show is Grey’s Anatomy and hopes that the show never gets cancelled.
Maya Bethea has worked as the Administrative Assistant for the Department of Internal Medicine since June 2017. She has lived in Central Florida for her entire life. Ms. Bethea is currently an undergraduate student at the University of South Florida pursuing a BA in Anthropology with a minor in Political Science. She hopes to use her degree to help bridge gaps of cultural misunderstanding through outreach and education. When she is not at work, she enjoys going to the beach, reading and traveling.
