Nephrology & Hypertension

Nephrology Fellowship

The Nephrology and Hypertension Fellowship Program at the University of South Florida-Morsani College of Medicine is located within the Tampa Bay area. Our mission is to develop our fellows into physician leaders with a foundation in patient-centered care, nephrology knowledge, scholarly activity, and academic teaching.

Our fellows train at three primary teaching sites and two outpatient clinics. Tampa General Hospital is the region's top level-one trauma and quaternary referral center and is regionally ranked #2 in Florida. Here, our fellows provide excellent care to patients with complex renal diseases, as well as kidney transplant patients. Moreover, our fellows perform more than 250 plasmapheresis procedures annually. The James A. Haley Veteran's Affairs Hospital has set the national precedent for quality of care, and allows us to serve our veterans with multiple complex comorbidities. Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida's only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, ranked 8th in oncology nationwide providing our fellows with exposure to most cancer and chemotherapy-related renal diseases. The USF Health Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare, where our fellows have continuity clinic, provides world-class health care involving multiple specialties.

We strive to train our fellows become successful in their own unique career pathways. We have had 100% board pass rate and post-graduate employment, and our fellows have many publications. Each fellow plays an integral role in building our program's future through feedback. Our alumni have found success in both academic and private practices.
