Administration Fellowship
USF EM HALM
The USF Emergency Medicine Health Care Administration, Leadership, and Management (HALM) Fellowship prepares medical directors and future leaders in our discipline. During this two-year program, fellows complete an Executive MBA program at the USF MUMA College of Business and is able to work 1-2 attending ED shifts/week while also maintaining administrative duties with hospital and corporate executives. Reginald Saint-Hilaire, MD, MBA was named Fellowship Director in 2024. Our System Medical Director for TeamHealth, David Wein, MD, MBA, remains as fellowship faculty, along with the USF EM Chair and TGH Chief, Jason Wilson, MD, PhD. We also include experiences with senior leaders to ensure that fellows receive excellent education in the business and leadership of emergency medicine.
Our HALM fellowship has existed since 2008. We will now embark on a journey to become an ACGME accredited HALM fellowship through the new ABEM subspecialty pathway. This is exciting and positive growth for HALM as ACGME accreditation will lead to less variable curriculum across programs, as well as better recognition of the fellowship.
Available information regarding HALM is also available on the ABEM site.
