USF Health secures new funding to advance research on promising liver cancer drug
Dr. Christian Bréchot, senior associate dean for research in global affairs and associate vice president for international partnerships and innovation, is leading new research on a promising liver cancer drug. The project, being done in collaboration with the Health Aging Company, will evaluate the efficacy of ALF5755 in targeting several key drivers of MASH (metabolically dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis), including inflammation, insulin resistance and changes in the gut microbiome.
