Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, and it effects affects millions of Americans every year.  Living in Florida, the Sunshine State, we are more exposed and have elevated risks for skin cancer. 

At the USF Health Department of Plastic Surgery, we are dedicated to creating awareness and teaching our patients about early prevention and education. We promote routine cancer screenings and guidance on skin protection for individuals of all ages. 

We primarily care for adult patients, but we also treat children with atypical moles and rare cutaneous malignancies, ensuring comprehensive care for all ages.

Multidisciplinary Expertise 

At USF health Plastic Surgery, we take pride in offering a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to skin cancer care through our partnership with Tampa General Hospital. Patients benefit from coordinated care involving a range of specialists, all working together to craft the most effective treatment plan.

In parentship with Tampa General Hospital our multidisciplinary approach gives our patients access to range of specialists. 

Our team of experts include a scope of specialists which can include:

  • Dermatologists, who evaluate skin lesions, perform biopsies, and guide long-term prevention
  • Surgical oncologists, who remove tumors while preserving healthy tissue
  • Medical oncologists, who offer systemic therapies like chemotherapy and immunotherapy
  • Radiation oncologists, who design precise treatment plans using high-energy radiation
  • Plastic and reconstructive surgeons, who optimize cosmetic outcomes and restore skin function
  • Pathologists and radiologists, who analyze tissue samples and imaging to inform diagnosis and treatment
