The Chiles Center

The Center is dedicated to determining the most effective strategies, programs and systems for reducing illness and death among mothers, their infants and young children. It is the lead agency for coordinating a federally funded Healthy Start initiative and has multiple sources of funding.

Global Health & Infectious Diseases Research (GHIDR)

The USF Center for Global Health and Infectious Diseases Research (GHIDR) improves the health and lives of people afflicted by infectious diseases through the development of improved diagnostics, treatments and preventive mechanisms.

Sunshine Education & Research Center (ERC)

Supported by $1 million yearly from NIOSH, the Center's mission is to promote health and well-being in the workplace through interdisciplinary education and research programs for physicians, nurses, industrial hygienists, occupational safety experts, employers, employees & labor representatives in Region IV, a nine state region in the Southeastern US. This program based in the department of Environmental and Occupational Health.

Florida Health Information Center

This Center was created by the Florida Legislature to serve as a statewide Center for the acquisition and dissemination of relevant, policy-oriented health services research and other information to public and private health organizations in the state.

Florida Prevention Research Center

The Florida Prevention Research Center (FPRC) uses community-based prevention marketing (CBPM) for systems change to develop, adapt, implement, evaluate, and disseminate evidence-based approaches to strengthen state and local health departments’ and community coalitions’ capacity for sustained disease prevention and health promotion.

The Harrell Center

This Center's scope includes spouse, child, elder, same sex partner abuse and other forms of relationship violence. The focus is on research, information-gathering, idea-sharing, training, policy analysis & advocacy.

Center for Transdisciplinary Research in College Health and Well-being

The Center for Transdisciplinary Research in College Health and Well-being is an innovative, multidisciplinary academic and community partnership, committed to bridging the gap between professional disciplines to create new paradigms for college health, wellbeing and success. With the work of our directors, research scientists, student researchers and community partners, we aim to be a national leader in transdisciplinary college health research.
OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Administration Education Center

Occupational Safety and Health Administration Education Center

One vital purpose of the USF College of Public Health is to protect worker health. To serve this end we have created the OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Administration Education Center. The Center seeks to engage and include the local community in our efforts to promote the health and safety of the Florida workforce and beyond. Specifically, the Center includes the contributions by the faculty, staff and resources of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health as well as those of the USF SafetyFlorida (OSHA 21(d) Consultation Program) and the USF OSHA Education Center.

The mission of the University of South Florida Center for Environmental/Occupational Risk Analysis & Management (CEORAM) is to clearly identify and characterize the risks associated with occupational, agricultural and environmental exposures to chemicals.

Center for Leadership in Public Health Practice

 The Center’s primary mission is to advance the development of the multi-sector collaborative leadership necessary to intentionally improve the health and well-being of the public by strengthening the technical, scientific, managerial, and leadership competencies and capabilities of all leaders. To achieve these goals, the Center has reopened with a focus on Florida’s public health workforce and plans to expand its offerings in the coming months and years.

World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Onchocerciasis Diagnostics

The Center’s mission is to provide technical assistance, QA/QC support and logistical assistance to WHO and other approved laboratories in Africa involved in the effort to eliminate river blindness (onchocerciasis).
Maternal and Child Health Center of Excellence

USF Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health Education, Science and Practice

The Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration to provide leadership training in MCH that focuses on promoting health equity through an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach that is culturally competent and family-centered.
