Training to the Public Workforce
The Sunshine ERC is committed to providing training to professionals in the workplace. The Continuing Education program offers non-academic training to the public workforce in the areas of occupational safety, industrial hygiene, occupational health nursing, occupational medicine, and occupational health psychology.

Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)
This 40-hour training course will help employees assess the hazards associated with uncontrolled hazardous waste sites to determine whether work can be conducted in a safe manner. Required competencies will be addressed through a combination of lecture, group exercises, and hands-on exercises.

NIOSH Approved Spirometry
This two-day course is offered each May and includes nationally recognized standards (ATS/ERS) for reliable spirometry in the occupational health setting. The class combines lecture, practice, and demonstration using a wide variety of spirometers in a relaxed classroom environment.
