NCLEX Success

NCLEX Success Starts on Day One

At the USF College of Nursing, preparing for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) success begins long before graduation. It’s a comprehensive, student-centered approach embedded throughout the nursing undergraduate journey—from Level 1 to Level 4 and beyond graduation.

Throughout the program, students have access to dedicated academic support, personalized coaching, wellness resources and NCLEX preparation designed to help build confidence, strengthen clinical judgment and achieve goals.

A Proven Commitment to Student Success

Nursing school is challenging, but students don’t have to navigate it alone.

Our faculty and student success teams work alongside students every step of the way, providing individualized guidance and evidence-based resources to help:

  • Develop effective study habits and learning strategies

  • Master complex nursing concepts

  • Build clinical judgment and critical thinking skills

  • Strengthen test-taking confidence

  • Improve academic performance

  • Enhance personal resilience and well-being

  • Prepare for NCLEX success and professional practice

Our goal is simple: help every student reach their full potential and graduate ready to enter the nursing profession with confidence.

Support at Every Level of the Curriculum

  • Success begins with a strong foundation.

During Level 1, students learn effective study strategies, time management skills and approaches for academic success while developing the habits that support long-term achievement throughout nursing school.

Students will utilize the CARE model:

    • Connection – build meaningful connections

    • Awareness – recognize stress responses, coping needs and warning signs

    • Resilience – strategies and tools to navigate academic, clinical and personal challenges

    • Empowerment – Tools and confidence to support well-being.

  • As coursework becomes more complex, support evolves to meet these needs.

Students develop stronger critical thinking skills while learning strategies to manage stress, maintain balance and confidently approach nursing exams.

    Support includes:

    • Strengthening study habits

    • NCLEX-style question practice

    • Academic progress monitoring

  • As students advance through the curriculum, the focus shifts toward higher-level clinical decision-making and professional readiness.

    Dedicated support helps students:

    • Strengthen clinical judgment

    • Refine test-taking strategies

    • Enhance critical thinking skills

    • Build confidence in complex patient care scenarios

    • Breakdown NCLEX questions

  • The final phase of the program is designed to ensure graduates feel prepared for the NCLEX exam and the transition from student to professional nurse.

    Students receive:

    • Comprehensive NCLEX preparation and readiness

    • Test-taking strategies

    • Support for managing stress and transitioning from student to graduate nurse

    • Opportunity to develop post-graduation success plans
