The goal of the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post Master’s or DNP) Graduate Certificate is to prepare advanced practice registered nurses with sufficient didactic and clinical experiences to qualify for national certification and practice as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Such nurse practitioners provide a full range of mental health treatment and support services to patients across the lifespan, including diagnosis, medication management, and psychotherapeutic intervention.

Important Start Term Update for 2026 Applicants: The start term for the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate has been changed from Summer to Fall beginning in 2026. For the 2026 cycle only, applicants must select “Summer” in the application and then request that their start term be updated to Fall. Please contact Larissa Garofola or Rowena with any questions.
