Welcome to the Division of Forensic Psychiatry
Forensic psychiatry is a medical subspecialty that includes research and clinical practice in the many areas in which psychiatry is applied to legal issues. The Division of Forensic Psychiatry at USF Health specializes in providing expert evaluation, consultation, and opinions on a wide range of legal issues. Faculty members have experience in both the criminal and civil arenas of psychiatry and the law, including but not limited to psychiatric malpractice, fitness for duty, testamentary capacity, assessment of psychiatric damages, competence to stand trial, violence/sexual violence risk assessment, and criminal responsibility.
Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship
The Division of Forensic Psychiatry is proud to announce the opening of our forensic psychiatry fellowship. Supported by multiple faculty members with a varied areas of expertise, our division now not only provides excellent consultation and expert opinions to our community, but also is training the future generation of experts in our field.
