Athletic Training Program
Admissions Information
The ATCAS Application usually opens around July 1 annually, and below are application deadlines:
Priority deadline: December 1 - SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE
Final deadline: February 15
International applicants must apply by the priority deadline of December 1.We utilize rolling admissions so we encourage applicants to submit their ATCAS applications ASAP.
Pre-Requisites
Applicants must demonstrate completion with a minimum grade of “C” of at least one course at the undergraduate or graduate levels in each of the following subject areas
Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II (labs ARE required) - BSC 2085 and BSC 2028/BSC 2085L and BSC 2086L
General Chemistry I (lab preferred not required) - CHM 2045
General Physics I (lab preferred not required) - PHY 2048 or 2053
General Biology I (lab preferred not required) - BSC 2010
Medical Terminology - HSC 4537
Exercise Physiology - RSD 3402
Nutrition - RSD 3411
General Psychology - PSY 2012
Statistics - STA 2023
Biomechanics/Kinesiology (recommended not required) - ATR 3132
Technical Writing (recommended not required) - ENC 2210
Please note all course substitutions are evaluated and approved on a case by case basis. For more information regarding this please send an email to: ATprogram@usf.edu to request a course substitution evaluation. The course code and number listed below are the recommended courses offered at USF, they should match other Florida SUS. Most of them should also match by name to most universities, any questions please email us.

Applicants must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited academic institution (or foreign equivalent with satisfactory completion of the TOEFL).
Applicants must demonstrate an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (some exceptions are permissible).
Applicants must be CPR (with AED for adult, infant, and child) and First Aid certified. You will need to upload a copy of your certification cards to ATCAS.

Students applying to the Athletic Training program are not required to complete observation hours with a Certified and/or Licensed Athletic Trainer, but it is recommended.
Please note that if observation hours are obtained in a Hillsborough County High School, students must complete the SERVE background check paperwork prior to starting the hours.
