Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year will be accepted through the Electronic Application Services (ERAS). Potential candidates can access applications through the AAMC/ERAS website at www.aamc.org/eras. The application period will open in July 2022 for training that will start July 1, 2023. Our Nephrology Fellowship Program will be matching positions using the NRMP system. Interested candidates will be required to register with the NRMP.

Qualifications for Renal Fellowship

• ABIM certified or eligible, and outstanding scores. We accept, in addition to US citizens, permanent residents, holders of a valid J-1 Visa, and, depending on the situation, we may accept H1B Visa applicants with outstanding USMLE scores.

How to Apply

You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The application form and all supporting documentation must be submitted by August 31 to be considered for an interview.

Step 1

To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website.
The application requires the following information:

• Medical school transcripts
• An official record of board scores (USMLE or equivalent)
• A program director's letter and at least two other letters of recommendation
• A curriculum vitae
• A personal statement
• A valid ECFMG certificate (if you graduated from medical school outside of the United States)

Step 2

Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine for an interview with the Program Director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted from August through October of each year prior to the match date.

Step 3

The match occurs in December. On match day, our applicants will be matched to our program using the certified ranking list that was created with input from the Program Director and faculty.
