The Department of Internal Medicine is one of 16 clinical departments in the USF Morsani College of Medicine. Our mission is to attain a level of performance in the areas of education, research and patient care that ranks among the elite in the nation. Each year we provide education and training for a diverse group of medical students, residents, fellows and allied health personnel from USF and around the world. The Department's research activities are numerous and involve both basic and clinical research activities in all subspecialties of Internal Medicine. Our department continues to extend USF’s high standards of practice to numerous geographical areas including China, India, Thailand, Colombia, and Dominican Republic. The Department of Internal Medicine in conjunction with the International Medicine Department will continue to achieve the highest level of performance in education, patient care, and research worldwide.

Long before the sun rises, Danielle White is already on the road. At 3 a.m., she begins a two-hour drive from Ocala to Tampa for her clinical training. By 6 a.m., she is on the court or field, caring for University of South Florida student-athletes, sometimes on only four hours of sleep.
