GI Fellowship Program

Overview

Gastroenterology Fellows 2024

We thank you for your interest in our training program, located in the beautiful Tampa Bay area – once again ranked as the #1 hospital in Tampa Bay and third highest ranked in Florida.

With our top ranked teaching hospital in Tampa Bay and No. 19 Gastroenterology & GI Surgery Division in the country, pleasant weather, world-renowned beaches, champion sports teams, family fun, and a century of Cuban culture, we trust you will soon understand our passion for living and practicing medicine here.

The USF GI Fellowship is an ACGME-accredited, three-year training program that participates in the Medical Specialties Matching Program. Our training program has been fully accredited since its inception by the ACGME since 1987. We strongly believe in inclusive excellence and encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds to apply to our 12 training positions, with four accredited-positions per year.

Our faculty specialize in general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal motility disorders, pancreaticobiliary disease, functional medicine, chronic liver disease, and liver transplantation, and are dedicated to providing our trainees a comprehensive experience in clinical gastroenterology.

Upon completion of training, all fellows will have met the training requirements for qualification to sit for the American Board of Internal Medicine Subspecialty examination in Gastroenterology. The Subspecialty Board pass rate for the last five cycles of fellows has been 100%.
