USF Health Tampa

Cristienn Joudaane received a Masters of Business Administration with a focus in International Business and Management from the University of South Florida and a Master’s of Science in Medical Sciences from the University of Science, Art and Technology. Ms. Joudaane is a highly-skilled business professional with 10 years of combined experience in international business development, office and account management, marketing and research. Her business development and management experience have been in the international trade, health services and consumer goods industries. Ms. Joudaane has held key roles in developing and launching successful international business strategies and previously served as an intern economic and political intelligence analyst with the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency. Ms. Joudaane has a true passion for health and medicine. She is a Certified Clinical Research Associate and her previous laboratory research interests focus on brain aging and cancer pathology.

Program Director
USF Health Panama

Aracely, earned her degree in Industrial Engineering from the Latin American University of Science and Technology (ULACIT) in Panama City, Panama. She has over 20 years of professional experience in business administration, operations, and sales, and since joining the USF Panama team in 2006, Aracely has served in two leadership roles. Originally, she held the position of Operations Manager, and currently, Aracely is the Program Director for the USF Health International Foundation. Aracely works very closely with the Tampa office in planning study abroad and other programs in Panama, and as Program Director, she has overseen everything from organizing international scientific conferences to coordinating faculty visits and planning and hosting faculty-led study abroad groups in areas including International Business, Community Health for Nurses, Women’s Health, and more.

Research Assistant Professor
USF Health Panama

Primarily assigned at the Department of Community and Family Health of the USF College of Public Health, and a dual appointment through the Department of Global Health. Dr. Calvo holds a doctorate degree of USF on Health Education. Originally from Panama, she returned to her native country in 2002, and helped establish the USF Panama Program at the City of Knowledge. Dr. Calvo has since championed the training and growth of science, academia, and research in the Region. She has taught numerous local and international courses for local participants, and international experiences for international students. She has conducted population-based research studies on vaccine acceptability, new vaccine trials and cancer control, among others. Her interests include community participatory processes, chronic disease prevention, health education, etc.

Director, Program Development
USF Health Panama

Gladys Bernett serves as the Director of Program Development for the USF Health office in Panama. Her responsibilities include expanding academic and research opportunities for USF faculty in Panama and the region. Prior to that, she served as Advisor to the National Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation of Panama (SENACYT) and in that capacity helped facilitate the development of the National Strategic Plan of Science Technology and Innovation 2010-2014 and helped moved forward the development of multiple international collaboration and unique scholarship and research programs with the most prestigious research and higher education institutions in the world. In 2012, she received an Affiliate Instructor Courtesy Appointment from the Department of Global Health at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Ms. Bernett graduated with honors from the University of Florida where she completed her undergraduate degree in Health Science Education and two Masters Degrees, one in Health Care Administration and the other in Business Administration. Ms. Bernett is also a proud graduate of the Innovation for Economic Development Program from the Harvard Kennedy School of Public Policy in Cambridge, MA.

Administrative & Financial Assistant

Jeanette has a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Business Administration from the Latin American University of Science and Technology (ULACIT) in Panama and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Strategic Management from the Interamerican University of Panama. Prior to joining the USF Panama team in 2010, Jeanette worked for the Organization of American States in Panama. She enjoys and is very proud of the work that the USF Health & Education International Foundation and the team in Panama do with and for the students, faculty, and other visitors from both USF and other universities who travel to Panama to study, carry out research, volunteer and intern with local organizations.
