As our population ages, our state faces a growing challenge in providing adequate health care. The USF College of Pharmacy has the foresight to address these needs. Our innovative clinical program will advance the pharmacy profession at a time when medications offer some of the best solutions to managing many chronic health conditions. Our students graduate with a mindset to transform the health care arena, not simply exist in it. Pharmacist clinicians must be prepared for a team-based interprofessional environment, ready to provide individualized care and skilled in using health information technologies. Your support will make a profound impact as we shape the future of pharmacy.

As the state’s first public pharmacy school in a metropolitan area, the University of South Florida College of Pharmacy is driving innovation within its curricular model and through interactions with industry. The college prepares pharmacist clinicians for the escalating demands of our health care system by combining an exceptional interdisciplinary curriculum with practical experience in the pharmacy of the future. Geriatric pharmacotherapy, health informatics, translation pharmacogenomics and leadership training compose the foundational pillars for this nationally commended program.
The costs for earning a professional pharmacy degree can create significant debt for students, and endowed scholarships and fellowships play a vital role in making a career in pharmacy accessible to bright minds regardless of their financial background. An investment in pharmacy scholarships not only reduces student financial burdens, but also pays great dividends by increasing the number of qualified pharmacists to serve our community.
As the college grows its PharmD and graduate programs, recruiting and retaining preeminent leaders in pharmacy research and education will be essential for success. Endowed chairs will direct cutting-edge research leverage competitive federal research opportunities, draw outstanding students, and mentor junior faculty members. Endowed professorships may be used to create new positions and attract renowned scholars who will make substantial contributions in advancing our profession.
To drive forward its mission to revolutionize health, the College of Pharmacy critically needs new space to provide the most competitive and innovative educational experiences and recruit top students and faculty. USF Health is expanding its footprint into downtown Tampa, creating exciting opportunities for the pharmacy college to develop its facilities for taking pharmacy education, research and innovation to the next level. This facility will provide a unique opportunity for individuals looking to transform health care by making a meaningful and lasting impact on advances in drug therapy.
