A bold vision for USF Health and Tampa
A new 319,000-square-foot downtown building– to house the Morsani College of Medicine and Heart Institute – places the University of South Florida at the center of Jeff Vinik's billion-dollar vision for a vibrant wellness district for the city of Tampa. Mayor Bob Buckhorn has called the urban medical center as "…singularly one of the most important things that will occur in our lifetime."
This unprecedented opportunity will address several critical needs for the Morsani College of Medicine:
- Modern, adaptable facilities to meet evolving changes in medical training requirements
- Closer proximity to USF’s primary teaching hospital Tampa General Hospital, the USF Health South Tampa Center, and the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS)
- Advanced education and research setting to attract outstanding students and NIH-funded researchers to USF Health
Even with state funding and the donation of land, a funding gap remains to bring this plan to reality. Contact us today to learn more about opportunities to become a part of this transformational vision for our community.
