Health Scholars
The Heath Scholars Program is an opportunity for public health and health sciences majors to expand their health learning and skill development in a focused, experiential program. The Health Scholars Program offers students opportunities to connect with their peers, faculty, academic advisors, and community. Participation in this program promotes resume building opportunities that can set students apart from others when applying for graduate school or jobs after graduation.
The Health Scholars program is a 9-month, cohort-based program taking place during the Fall and Spring semesters. Students will connect monthly with their peers and develop lasting relationships.
Students can apply to participate in the program at any point in their academic program. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are encouraged to take advantages of this programs. This opportunity can open doors for more engaged learning and experiences during the course of your college experience.
Program Eligibility
Students are eligible to apply for the program if they:
- Are majoring in public health or health sciences
- Have a 3.5 GPA or higher
- Will be enrolled at USF for a least the upcoming fall and spring semesters
- Are excited to experience all that public health has to offer!

- Eligible to apply for the Health Scholars Student Director or Student Coordinator positions after successfully completing the program
How to Apply
Applications are open during the spring semester for students interested in the program. Students who are eligible will be interviewed and selected prior to the end of the spring semester. For new USF students, please consider applying even if you do not yet have a USF GPA.
