Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Rehabilitation Science
The Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Rehabilitation Science is designed for students interested in rehabilitation. The program cultivates a deep understanding of physical well-being. This curriculum provides a strong science background and requires students to complete coursework in the clinical aspects of rehabilitation and wellness. It exposes students to the interdisciplinary field of physical rehabilitation, to improve quality of life for individuals with disabilities or recovering from injury, illness, or surgery. Additionally, it will provide students with the skills needed to enhance lives through movement, health, and wellness.
This unique major is completed in partnership with our USF Health School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science (SPTRS). Many of the clinical and upper level courses are taught by expert faculty within USF SPTRS, bringing unique experiences and clinical opportunities to the classroom. These range from clinical cases and applications, using the USF Health anatomy lab, Anatomy in Clay, and other on campus resources.
Students in this program are equipped for graduate level coursework in rehabilitation sciences and other movement science professional programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, and more. Graduates may find career opportunities in healthcare settings, hospitals, or clinics. This major offers a solid foundation for immediate employment in medical equipment sales or as a physical therapy aide, occupational therapy aide, health education specialist, or clinical laboratory technician.
