In 2016, The Florida Association of Healthy Start Coalitions (http://healthystartflorida.com/) was awarded a five-year federal Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (ECCS) Impact grant. The grant aims to achieve a 25% improvement in the developmental skills of three-year old’s residing in New Town Success Zone (Jacksonville, 2016-2018), Liberty City (Miami,  2019-2021), and Town N Country (Tampa. 2019-2021).

This project will contribute to Florida’s ongoing processes and progress towards the goals and objectives of developmental and maternal depression screening and referral rates by facilitating monitoring of data trends and through reflective qualitative processes. The evaluation will measure the process of: 1) enhancing early childhood comprehensive systems (ECCS) building and demonstrating improved outcomes in population-based children’s developmental health and well-being indicators using a Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network (CoIIN) approach; and 2) developing collective impact expertise, implementation, and sustainability at the state, county, and community levels. ECCS brings together stakeholders to develop seamless systems of care and better integrate and improve services for young children (HRSA, n.d.).
