Biography

Dr. Amanda Elmore is an Assistant Professor of Maternal and Child Health at the University of South Florida. She holds degrees in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (BS), Public Health (MPH), and Epidemiology (PhD). Her research focuses on reproductive, perinatal, and pediatric epidemiology, with an emphasis on maternal substance use, prenatal exposure, and long-term outcomes for mother-infant dyads. She also investigates innovative psychedelic therapies to improve maternal mental health and address substance use disorders. Dr. Elmore is committed to advancing the health and well-being of families affected by substance use through translational, evidence-based, and stigma-informed strategies in surveillance, prevention, and treatment.
