Welcome to the Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of South Florida College of Public Health. Our programs in the department allow students to hone skills in a variety of concentration and focus areas including maternal and child health, health promotion and behavior, nutrition and dietetics, community nutrition, genetic counseling, and more! We also lead a variety of undergraduate courses and minors.
Our exemplary faculty perform innovative and groundbreaking research in each of the concentration areas and also serve as leaders in a variety of our affiliated centers and labs and within the local, state, national, and global public health community.
Our department prides itself in preparing our next generation of community health scientists and encourages and supports students to collaborate with us on research projects, development of interventions, and forming partnerships to build and sustain the health of populations.
In CHS, we believe in connecting the dots between groundbreaking research and implementation of efficacious and sustainable interventions and programs. CHS faculty’s work has led to formidable changes in our world, driven by our passion and drive to improve the quality of life for all.
