Welcome to the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science at the University of South Florida College of Public Health!

Our department is dedicated to supporting students and faculty at every stage of the research process from study design and data analysis to interpretation and dissemination of findings. We take great pride in preparing the next generation of biostatisticians and data scientists by equipping them with the skills to tackle real-world challenges in public health, medicine, and beyond.

Our faculty are experts in Bayesian methods, joint modeling, longitudinal data analysis, clinical trials, data privacy and sharing, biomarker validation, causal inference, and causal mediation analysis. Students gain hands-on experience through research projects with our Study Design and Data Analysis (SDDA) core, as well as collaborations with faculty in the COPH, USF College of Medicine, Tampa General Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Moffitt Cancer Center, and USF Health clinical trials.
