Academic Philosophy

"As an instructor and researcher with a clinical background, I approach teaching and learning from multiple angles. My teaching is effective if I can get concepts across to students with different educational backgrounds and learning styles."

Research Interests

  • My area of research interest is examining the relationship between modifiable physical characteristics and at-risk landing mechanics in an adolescent population, with a specific focus on ACL injury. Previously, I have examined the extent to which physical characteristics (that are modifiable through training) were predictive of high risk knee joint landing mechanics in adolescent females, both before and after an exercise challenge.
  • More recently my research has included creating inclusive and supportive environments in athletic training, and development of interprofessional education opportunities.
