Biography

Dr. Hales is an assistant professor with USF Main Hospitalists. She obtained her degree in osteopathic medicine at Nova Southeastern University COM in 2016. She then completed her internship and residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where she was named Resident of the Year in 2019. Since joining USF Main, Dr. Hales has enjoyed working with residents on the ward service and helped to create a curriculum for residents interested in hospital medicine by teaching topics such as Medicare, billing, and the care of post-surgical patients. She also completed the TGH Physician Leadership Program, where she worked to improve the efficiency of phlebotomy. In her spare time, Dr. Hales enjoys traveling, cooking, exploring the outdoors through kayaking/hiking, and, last but not least, cultivating her herb garden.
