Tampa General Hospital (TGH) offers world-class health care. Faculty of the University of South Florida College of Medicine admit and care for patients at Tampa General as do community physicians, many of whom also serve as adjunct clinical faculty. The division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition faculty members provide comprehensive inpatient consultative services throughout the year and perform, in addition to routine endoscopic procedures, complex procedures such as endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), biliary cholangioscopy (SpyGlass™), Barrx® procedure for Barrett esophagus ablation, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) with fine-needle aspiration (FNA), pancreatic pseudocyst drainage, single balloon-assisted small bowel enteroscopy, small bowel capsule endoscopy, complex esophageal dilation procedures, and Botox® injection for the treatment of achalasia and gastroparesis. Other services provided include Bravo pH testing, esophageal and anorectal manometry (pressure measurement of the esophagus and anal/rectal area). The hospital also offers a wide range of radiology services essential to the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver disorders such as colon transit study, defecography, liver biopsy, and TIPSS (Transjugular Intrahepatic PortoSystemic Shunt) procedure for treatment of variceal bleeding and intractable ascites.

The Digestive Diagnostic & Treatment Center (6th floor of the Bayshore Pavilion) uses the most advanced technology for both the diagnosis and treatment of all types of conditions concerning the digestive system.
