IPE Education

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), interprofessional education (IPE) occurs “when students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health.”

Interprofessional education (IPE) is the essence of the USF Health brand. Educating tomorrow’s health care providers to learn and work together is a vital component in today’s 21st Century health care system. Our innovative IPE approach provides our students with the necessary skill sets to work as team members, communicate effectively, and, more importantly, make a positive, collaborative impact on the future of health care by improving patient outcomes and coordination of care. As the only academic medical center on the west coast of Florida, our students are uniquely positioned to leverage their collective expertise and strengths across health disciplines to become IPE leaders in their future practice environment, placing the patient at the center of care. It embodies our commitment to establishing life-long relationships among health professions, not only essential for the health care workforce of tomorrow but to health our community, our nation, and the world.
