Biography

Yi-Cheng Tu received a Bachelor's degree in horticulture from Beijing Agricultural University, China, and MS and PhD degrees in computer science from Purdue University. He is a tenured professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of South Florida. His research interest is in scientific data management, energy-efficient computer systems, high performance computing and data stream management systems. He is conducting research on accelerating key algorithms in various computational biology areas with modern parallel hardware systems. He is the recipient of a CAREER award from US National Science Foundation (NSF), a USF Outstanding Faculty Award, and a USF Outstanding Research Achievement Award.
