Biography
Dr. Wildman is a Professor at the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida. He serves on the USF Graduate Council where he is chair of the Curriculum Committee and member of the Policy Committee. He also is a member of the USF Research Council. He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring of students at USF. Dr. Wildman is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, and is a member of several scholarly societies. He serves as a standing member on the National Institutes of Health Study Section on the Social and Environmental Determinants of Health. He has reviewed scholarly articles for over fifty journals, and his work has been cited over 14,000 times. His H-Index is currently 64, and he has been a coauthor on 40+ publications cited over 100 times (according to scholar.google.com). He has made contributions to the understanding of the evolution of the placenta as well as the evolution of primates and other mammals. Dr. Wildman has also focused his research on the understanding of psychiatric disorders, and brain evolution from a genomics perspective. He has trained many students and postdoctoral fellows who are now faculty at Universities and companies across the globe. His work has been described in the New York Times, the BBC, and Fox News. He has presented his work at international and national conferences, and has been involved in research on every continent except Antarctica. He is active in obtaining research funding and has been responsible for over $20 million dollars in funding over the course of his career.
