Biography

Dr. Tim Henkel brings more than 15 years of experience supporting faculty across the arc of their careers. He came to USF in 2019 as the inaugural director of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning and later served as Assistant Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning, where he built faculty development programming across all three campuses. A marine ecologist by training with a doctorate from UNC Wilmington and previously Associate Professor of Biology at Valdosta State University, Dr. Henkel teaches experimental design, statistics, and quantitative analytical methods. His scholarship includes work on faculty development, evidence-based learning, and the implications of generative AI across higher education.
