Biography
Shannon Barker is an Instructor I at the College of Public Health for the BSHS program. She earned her MS degree from University of South Florida and her BS degree in Dietetics at Keiser University as well as her dietetic internship. Shannon also received a BS degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from University of Florida. Prior to becoming a full time instructor, Shannon has worked in private practica as well as being the nutrition director for a chain of fitness gyms. Shannon also taught middle and high school sciences and particularly enjoyed helping students establish strong study habits in order to foster a life-long love of learning. Shannon is also an ISSA Master Certified Personal Trainer. Her professional interests include behavior modification coaching, fitness accessibility for all ages, as well as public health issues related to obesity and weight management.
