Biography
Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Genomics & Bioinformatics at the University of South Florida (Dec 2023–Present). I am currently working on vector-borne Chagas disease genomics, focusing on the human parasite Trypanosoma cruzi and its triatomine insect vectors, including Rhodnius prolixus and Triatoma sanguisuga. My work investigates the genetic architecture and “genetic secrets” underlying vector biology through population genomics, including analyses of genetic diversity, population structure, and evolutionary patterns across different geographic populations. In parallel, I contribute to building and improving high-quality reference genomic resources to support robust variant discovery and comparative analyses, with the goal of generating actionable insights that advance Chagas disease research and vector control efforts.
