Biography

Dr. Fiona B. Lewis, DrPH, MS, RDN, is an associate professor and Director of the Doctor of Public Health program and Advanced Leadership concentration at the University of South Florida. She is a public health leader and registered dietitian with nearly 18 years of cross-sector experience spanning higher education, nutrition, leadership development, and workforce-focused program innovation. In her current role, she leads strategic initiatives in doctoral education, including curriculum redesign, faculty mentoring infrastructure, and student success systems designed to strengthen academic quality and applied leadership preparation. Her areas of expertise include public health leadership, program design, workforce development, public health entrepreneurship, women’s health innovation, and nutrition-centered approaches to health promotion. Dr. Lewis’s practice-based scholarly work sits at the intersection of leadership, systems-building, translational impact, and women’s health across the life course. She has presented nationally on topics including FemTech, public health entrepreneurship, crisis leadership, doctoral education, and midlife women’s health. Before joining USF, she held leadership and faculty roles in public health and nutrition at several institutions, including Andrews University, Oakwood University, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Through her academic and professional work, Dr. Lewis advances innovative, future-focused approaches to leadership, education, and women’s health practice.
