Biography

Dr. Christine McGuire-Wolfe is an associate professor in the Department of Global, Environmental, and Genomic Health Sciences (GEnGHS) in the College of Public Health.  She is a certified paramedic and firefighter II in the state of Florida with a unique connection to the emergency responder community. In 2020, she retired after 18 years in the fire service with eleven years of experience as an Infection Control Officer (ICO). In her current role with USF, she serves as the concentration lead for infection control programs (MPH, graduate certificate, undergraduate minor).  Dr. McGuire-Wolfe is also the director of the Infection Control for Emergency Responders (ICER) Collaborative and Training Hub.  Her research interests and program development efforts include infection prevention and control curriculum development; infection control training in EMS, fire rescue, and law enforcement; exposure management in the prehospital setting; pandemic response and planning, and occupational health issues for emergency responders.
