Biography

Dr. Bi Zhao is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida, where she works at the intersection of genomics, data science, and artificial intelligence. Her research focuses on using advanced computational approaches to better understand biological systems, particularly by analyzing large-scale genomic and multi-omics data and predicting protein structure and function. She has contributed to widely used resources such as the DescribePROT database, which provides detailed, amino acid–level insights into proteins. In addition to her research, Dr. Zhao teaches courses in genomics and AI in public health, and is dedicated to making complex biological data more accessible and useful for researchers and clinicians.
