USF's College of Public Health offers several unique Study Abroad opportunities for students. To learn more about some of these upcoming programs, their cities, and what you may gain from these experiences, explore below.

Public Health in Canada

Montreal & Québec City – Spring Break 2025

Students from across USF are invited to travel to Montreal & Québec City to gain an understanding of the health system of Canada in comparison to the U.S. health system. Students will also support the local community by participating in hands-on service-learning experiences at places such as homeless shelters and soup kitchens. The students round out their experience with opportunities to explore the local culture of Montreal & Quebec through circus school, dog sledding, and cooking a traditional meal. 

Who? All UG and MPH students are eligible 

When? Spring Break 2025 (March 16-23)

Public Health in Japan

Hiroshima, Miyajima, Gifu, Gujo, Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo – Summer 2025

Immerse yourself in Japanese culture and experience firsthand how Japan is one of the healthiest countries in the world. Students learn about public health programs, and policies such as preventative health measures, the school lunch program, and disaster preparedness initiatives. Students explore cities including Hiroshima, Miyajima, Gifu, Gujo, Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo

Public Health in Panama

Panama City, Panama – Summer 2025 (TBD) 

During PHC 4116 Public Health in Panama, students examine and compare public health systems in both the U.S.and Panama, providing a cultural context in which they occur. Public health topics include comparative study of advanced health care systems, prevention of chronic diseases and associated risk factors, epidemiology and environmental health, and disaster and humanitarian assistance to include the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The course combines academic instruction with site visits to improve awareness of how unique cultural differences play a critical role in health outcomes along with integrated service-learning activities. Students will engage in cultural experiences and service-learning community volunteer projects and attend a series of lectures and guest lectures throughout the study abroad program.

Public Health in London

London, England – Summer 2025 (TBD)

Study Abroad this summer with the College of Public Health! Join us for Summer B in the exciting city of London. Immerse yourself in this 6-credit, 4-week program designed to mix traditional class time with fun and educational excursions in the heart of London. The College of Public Health offers public health and health science taught by our experienced instructor team. Our London partner offers beautiful accommodations, unlimited public transit, and unique full-group experiences - we hope you will join us!
