Research Interests

  • The Dharap lab studies the pathophysiology of cerebral ischemia (stroke) and vascular dementia. Our goal is to improve our knowledge of the early molecular processes that drive deleterious cellular changes, brain damage and neurological dysfunction so that we may harness this data to develop new treatments against vascular brain injury. With a focus on transcriptomics and epigenetics, we hope to discover new druggable targets that can be further developed for preclinical and clinical applications to improve brain health.
