Research

Residents will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of research and publish their own projects in connection with the robust department of research at USF Health, which received over $480 million in research funding in last academic year alone. Our faculty will assist each resident in presenting their work at a national conference or publishing in a peer-reviewed journal. In addition, each resident will have the opportunity to perform a quality improvement project and an evidence based grand rounds with faculty mentorship.

Tampa General Hospital

As the region’s only level-1 trauma center, as well as the regional cardiac, burn, and transplant center, Tampa General Hospital provides a robust training platform for future Anesthesiologists. One of the highest volume medical centers in Florida, TGH is the site of over 8,000 deliveries per year, 200 surgeries per day, and is growing. This 1,100 bed hospital is set to undergo a $500 million addition with state-of-the-art operating rooms, ICUs, as well as clinical and educational space.
