Our Mission

The USF Health Anesthesiology Residency, is a four year program led by Dr. John Hodgson. Our focus is graduating skilled anesthesiologists who embody academic excellence.

We also aspire to contribute significantly to the advancement of medical knowledge. The USF Health Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) is ranked in the top 50 medical schools across the nation for medical research, with a remarkable 75% increase in NIH-funded research over the past decade. MCOM investigators also contribute 70% of the university’s total research awards, highlighting our college’s commitment to impactful research.

Patient care is fundamental to our mission, and we approach it with dedication to providing the highest quality services. In partnership with our chief academic partner and primary teaching hospital, Tampa General Hospital, we are well-positioned to offer comprehensive and integrated care to a diverse patient population. Tampa General Hospital is the region's No. 1 hospital, recognized by U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals, and nationally ranked in the top 50 in six adult medical specialties, many of which are led or co-led by USF Health faculty physicians, demonstrating a strong partnership in delivering top-quality care.
