Biography

Stephanie Lewis, MD is an anesthesiologist and educator, currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Vice-Chair for Administration in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University Of South Florida Morsani College Of Medicine. She holds the role of Associate Program Director of the Anesthesiology Residency Program. Dr. Lewis earned her Doctor of Medicine from Stony Brook University School of Medicine after completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology (Cum Laude) at Spelman College. She completed a fellowship in Regional and Ambulatory Anesthesia at Duke University Medical Center, following her residency in Anesthesiology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and an Internal Medicine Internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Lewis is a leader in clinical operations currently serving as the Assistant Facility Medical Director and Director of Clinical Operations for Department of Anesthesiology at Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Lewis is actively involved in governance at Tampa General Hospital, contributing to multiple committees focused on operating room management, professionalism, and quality improvement. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Florida Society of Anesthesiology. In addition to her clinical and leadership responsibility, Dr. Lewis has made significant contributions to medical research, with peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations in anesthesiology. With a passion for patient care, education, and clinical excellence, Dr. Lewis continues to make a meaningful impact in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine.
