Biography
Peter Wu MD, MBA, FASA is an anesthesiologist at Tampa General Hospital. A graduate of Yale and John Hopkins, he completed his residency in the Harvard program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. An experienced cardiac and pediatric anesthesiologist, he is currently Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the Morsani College of Medicine. At Tampa General Hospital, he serves as Assistant Facility Medical Director and Director of Quality and Safety in the Department of Anesthesiology. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology, and is also a diplomate of the National Board of Echocardiography. An experienced simulation educator, his research has focused on interventions to improve the crisis response performance of interdisciplinary perioperative teams. He joined the Navy as a reserve officer at the age of 49 in response to a shortage of anesthesiologists. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs, and flying his Beech T-34 Mentor aircraft.
