USF Health Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center
New hope for IBD patients
You can help bring to life the vision for a new research and care center for patients with inflammatory bowel diseases.
Building upon USF’s strengths in its nationally renowned Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition, the USF Health Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center is the first multidisciplinary care center on Florida’s west coast dedicated to making life better for patients with inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Under the direction of IBD physician researcher Jennifer Seminerio-Diehl, MD and colorectal surgeon Jorge Marcet, the center provides an integrated treatment approach built upon a comprehensive, personalized care plan within a new medical home.
The center coordinates care across its team of expert gastroenterologists, leading colorectal surgeons, dedicated nurses and nurse practitioners, and specialized dietitians who provide guidance on advanced medical and surgical interventions, nutritional counseling, ostomy care, social services, and other resources to address and manage the needs of the whole person.
In addition to advanced clinical care, the center is home to a robust research program offering cutting-edge clinical trials to better understand and manage IBD, and to speed innovations that will help more patients on their paths to wellness.
